The uvex ultimate DNAero MIPS represents the pinnacle of innovation in the aerodynamic road helmet, developed through advanced CFD simulations to minimize aerodynamic drag. This flagship model celebrates 100 Years of uvex and embodies the pursuit of maximum speed on the road. The Flowskin surface structure, inspired by shark skin, reduces cross turbulence and prevents airflow separation, delivering superior performance. Worn by the UCI ProTeam Cofidis at the Tour de France 2026, the helmet combines reliable protection with robust multi-inmould construction and the lightweight MIPS Air Node system to absorb lateral impacts.

The internal CCubed padding with a cooling effect keeps the head fresh during long rides, wicking sweat and channeling it into the airflow to reduce skin temperature by up to two degrees Celsius. The BOA Fit System enables precise, millimeter-level adjustment, adapting perfectly to the shape of every cyclist’s head. Flat Y-dividers ensure pressure-free strap placement, while the integrated eyewear port keeps cycling glasses easily accessible during changing light conditions, ensuring practicality and optimal comfort.

TECHNOLOGIES

MIPSMIPS is an acronym for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System and represents an innovative technology that can be used to equip helmets for a variety of different purposes. MIPS was designed to make helmets safer in oblique impact situations, both in recreational and outdoor sports (climbing, mountain biking and motorbike riding) but also in the workplace. In practical terms, MIPS is a moving layer that is integrated on the inside of the safety helmetto the head. The sliding layer is not rigidly fixed but can move back and forth by 10 to 15 millimetres. In the event of lateral impact, this range of motion enables the helmet design to deflect acting rotational forces from the wearer’s head and brain using a sliding movement. Safety helmets that are equipped with MIPS therefore offer a higher level of protection for the helmet wearer than conventional helmets.
